East stand now looks like a stand.
Several sections of precast terracing in place on the steel structure.
Most of the section from pitch level to the entrances has been reinforced and concreted so that the formwork can be installed for the wet pour in-situ terracing.
Third white section of steel roof support in place.
The small blob on top of the hoarding behind the small blue sign on today's 9.15 web cam shot is me!

24th July 2009

Steel for east stand going up at a rate of knots.
Should take 5 weeks, but at this speed, could be earlier.
Some of the pre-cast terracing to go on this was delivered on Wednesday.
Concrete being poured in to south stand foundations.
Thought I got myself on the 9.00am web cam photo, only to find that where I was at that time is obliterated with a huge rain drop!

Progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Barry Izbak and I met Natterjack this morning.
We thanked him on behalf of NSC for his input with regards the info he posts on here.
He confirmed that the steel which you can see on the pitch area, will start zooming up next week at a pace.
The gate-house has arrived! (See 30B, last photo with crane erection vehicle).
The web cam is the white box in the first photo on the roof of the portakibin on the right.

It's really happening now.
The man on the gate said that the steel should be arriving on Monday for erection in a couple of weeks.
He said the "Gate House" which should have arrived two weeks ago is on its way.
I mentioned our man from Swansea on the inside - Natterjack, and he said that he was a really nice bloke.
I said that the banter on here confirmed that too.
I will try to meet him next week.
Stanmer Link Road widening confirmed to start 21st September.

Spoke to the man on the gate. The first lot of concrete arrived this week from Ireland. Some big steel deliveries due 13th July. Not so easy without a step ladder so I apologise for not meeting Jack Straws high standards. Normal coverage will continue next week! The first picture shows the new University of Brighton buildings which look to be nearly complete. I think they are looking at August/September decamp from buildings that will be knocked down.
